Frozen Bubble – an open-source, computer puzzle logic game available on personal computers for one or two players, modeled on Puzzle Bobble. It involves aiming colored balls so that they connect into groups – when 3 or more balls of a given color gather next to each other, they fall down. If the appropriate number of balls fail to fall down on a given level and one of them crosses the bottom line, the player is “frozen” (hence the name).

The game was written in Perl (although some multimedia operations were implemented in C) and uses the SDL library. It runs only on Linux, but there are unofficial versions not supported by the authors. The planned stable, official version for Windows and Mac OS X was never released[1]. The author of the game code is Guillaume Cottenceau. The game was released under the GNU GPL license.
