007: Licence to Kill – a 1989 computer game based on the James Bond film of the same name.
The game is played from a bird’s-eye view. Within a level, the player character may have to leave their vehicle to continue on foot. Weapon changes are possible. For example, you can swap your pistol for a submachine gun. However, these changes only affect the rate of fire. The game does not offer a save function.
The cover varied from country to country. There was also a version featuring an advance poster featuring Timothy Dalton and his golden Walther PP.
An NES version was also planned and under development. By the time it was completed, the film’s theatrical release had been too long ago, so marketing it to Domark no longer seemed sensible.
The game was originally released as a DOS version and was then ported to Amiga, Amstrad CPC, Atari ST, BBC Micro, Commodore 64, MSX, and ZX Spectrum.
