8 Eyes (エイト・アイズ Eito Aizu) – a computer game released by SETA Corporation in 1988 for the NES console. It is a typical platform game.

The game takes place in a post-apocalyptic future, where humanity is being reborn after hundreds of years of nuclear war. A ruler known as the “Great King” decides to restore humanity to its former glory by using eight gems, which were created at the site of the explosion of eight atomic bombs that nearly destroyed Earth. These gems possess a mysterious power that, in the wrong hands, could bring about the end of the world. However, eight power-hungry princes stole these gems and banished the Great King, leaving the world at risk of another nuclear war.

Controlling the falconer Orin and his ward, the war falcon Cutrus, the player must retrieve the gems from the clutches of the evil princes and bring them to the altar of peace, where the Great King can complete the restoration of Earth.

The game features eight princely castles to explore, divided into several levels. Each castle contains a different type of enemy, and at the end of each level, you fight a boss. Defeating him rewards you with one of eight gems. After collecting all of them, you must place them on the room’s altar in the correct order. Hints on how to arrange them are hidden throughout the game.

The game features a cooperative mode – one player controls Orin, and the other Cutrus. This simplifies gameplay, as the ability to control both characters simultaneously is limited in single-player mode.
