Achtung, die Kurve! – an action computer game created by Filip Oščádal and Kamil Doležal in 1995 for the MS-DOS platform. Achtung, die Kurve! is based on the 1993 game Červi by Vladimír Chvátil and itself became the inspiration for numerous clones. Achtung, die Kurve! gathered a small, passionate fanbase over the years.
The rules of the game are similar to Snake, but in Achtung, Die Kurve! the board isn’t made up of squares, but is instead a continuous plane across which a dot moves at any angle, leaving a trail behind it, with gaps allowing for later passage through it. The main goal is to force the opponent to hit a wall or their own or someone else’s trail. The game is controlled by only two buttons, representing left and right turns, respectively.
Achtung, die Kurve! Flash Remake released in April 2010, created by Geert van den Burg.
Achtung, die Kurve! 2 was released in November 2011. The games were rebranded for an international audience soon after, as “Curve Fever” and “Curve Fever 2”.
Curve Fever 3 released in September 2016.
In January 2017, Geert renames the studio “Hidden Monster Games” and in April they move to their current location in central Amsterdam, beginning pre-production on a all new “Curve Fever”, called “Curve Fever Pro”.
