EarthBound (Japanese: MOTHER2 ギーグの逆襲 Mazā Tsū Gīgu no Gyakushū (Giygas Strikes Back!)) – a Japanese jRPG role-playing video game developed by Ape and HAL Laboratory and published by Nintendo for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in 1994. The game was released on the European market only on July 18, 2013 for the Wii U console and on March 3, 2016 for the 3DS console (both via the Virtual Console service). On March 9, 2022, the game was added to Nintendo Switch Online.

The plot centers on the adventures of a company of four young travelers, children named Ness, Paula, Jeff and Poo, who are trying to prevent the enslavement of the Earth by an evil entity named Giygas (Eng. Giygas, in the Japanese version – Gigu (Jap. ギーグ Gi:gu, English . Gyiyg)), which will happen in the distant future. The game contains many elements traditional for the JRPG genre, such as a squad of heroes, turn-based battles, experience points, hit points. The action takes place at the end of the 20th century, for the most part in the fictional country of Eagleland. The heroes are opposed mainly by wild animals and people who have fallen under the influence of the evil will of Giygas.
