ePSXe (enhanced PSX emulator) – a PlayStation console emulator. The first version of ePSXe was released on October 2000. There are versions for Microsoft Windows, Mac OS, Linux and Android. The program is distributed under a freeware license.

ePSXe is equipped with a system of necessary plug-ins, which the user has to obtain on his own. This solution allows the creators to become independent of the method of emulating a given component, e.g. GPU, SPU or CD-ROM drive, and to focus on the emulation itself. The aforementioned plug-in system was used for the first time in PSEmu and PSEmu Pro emulators.

ePSXe can run PlayStation games straight from a disc or disc image, while coping with a large number of titles. The emulator is considered to be one of the better for this console, but it should be emphasized that its quality and performance are determined by the type and used plug-in settings and hardware configuration.
