Spectemu – a 48k ZX-Spectrum emulator for Linux and other UNIX operating systems, with full Z80 instruction set, comprehensive screen, sound and tape emulation, and snapshot file saving and loading. It can run on a Linux console, or in an X11 window.
It emulates a Z80 CPU, keyboard, monitor, audio, and I/O tapes. It can be run on console or X Windows. It has support for writing and reading snapshots “.Z80” and “.SNA”. Emulates wallpaper files in “.TAP” and “.TZX” format. Project ended in 2004.
Spectemu is basically usable under DOS. Still missing: Sound, Decent GUI.
The program is free software and is copyrighted under the GNU General Public License. It comes with absolutely no warranty.
