Sega System 16 Emulator – a System 16 arcade game emulator that currently supports Shinobi. The Sega System 16 (セガ システム 16) is an arcade board released by Sega in 1985.

There are no user friendly features like zipped rom support, dip switch settings, joystick use, etc.

Currently all debugging information is logged to ‘error.log’, and the YM2151 music data generated by the Z80 is logged to ‘shinobi.cym’, which can be played back in any CYM utility. By default, both features are disabled.

You’ll need a video card that supports a linear 16-bit 320×240 display. The rendering code assumes the pixel format is RGB 5:6:5. The default frameskip value is 2, you can change it in-game to your liking.

The source code cannot be used in whole or in part in any other project, such as another System 16 emulator.
